Women Empowerment
Karmani Grameen Seva Pratisthan (KGSP), established in 2002 at Agadi, Hubli Taluk, Dharwad District, is a dedicated voluntary organization working for rural development and empowerment of vulnerable communities. Covering 35 villages across Hubli, Kundgol, and Kalghatagi taluks, KGSP focuses on sustainable agriculture, women empowerment, and child welfare. Over the years, it has partnered with NCOF, NABARD, Spices Board, and National Horticultural Mission to promote organic farming and SHG linkages. The organization also served as a Childline Sub Centre and currently runs ‘Mahila Santvan’ at Kundgol. With 23 years of impactful service, KGSP continues to build resilient communities and moves proudly toward its Silver Jubilee.
An integrated approach to build a equitable and empowered society
OUR VISION
We envision a just, humane, equitable, and sustainable society where every individual lives with dignity and equal opportunity.
OUR MISSION
To empower people to help themselves, fostering transformation through self-reliance, education, skill development, and economic stability. KGSP strives to build a society that ensures dignity and sustainable development for all, especially vulnerable groups, beyond the barriers of caste and creed.
KGSP has empowered landless, marginal, and small farmers, especially women and SC/ST communities, by forming and nurturing 143 SHGs across Hubli, Kundgol, and Kalghatagi. These groups received training, exposure, and access to bank linkages for income generation and entrepreneurship. With 123 SHGs connected to banks, members collectively saved ₹123 lakhs and accessed ₹225 lakhs in loans. Over 90% of women members now lead improved livelihoods, supported by NABARD and NABFINs.
KGSP promotes eco-friendly, profitable farming through organic cultivation, soil fertility management, and integrated pest control. Farmers in Hubli and Kundgol have adopted organic chili cultivation with support from the Spices Board. More than 15,000 farmers across 19 villages now practice sustainable agriculture over 10,000 hectares. The organization trains “technology messengers” in composting and post-harvest practices, ensuring environmental balance and farmer prosperity.
KGSP conducts awareness sessions on property rights, domestic violence, child abuse, POSCO 2012, and sexual harassment at workplaces. For 12 years, it served as a Childline Sub-Centre at Kundgol, rescuing and supporting 19,008 children across 212 Anganwadis and 130 schools. The program prevents child labour, trafficking, and early marriage while ensuring education and rehabilitation. KGSP continues to advocate for safe and inclusive communities for women and children.
Established in 2010 at Kundgol with support from the Department of Women and Child Development, this centre offers counseling, legal and medical aid, police protection, and rehabilitation for women in distress. During 2024-25, it resolved 122 of 145 registered cases through counseling and police coordination. Through 1,347 awareness camps, 1,721 women were educated on gender-based violence, dowry, and child marriage. The centre stands as a lifeline for women seeking dignity and justice
Our NGO is deeply committed to promoting women empowerment across Karnataka by creating opportunities for education, skill development, and financial independence. We focus on building confidence and leadership among women through training, awareness programs, and Self-Help Group initiatives. By supporting women to become self-reliant and active contributors to society, we strive to create a more inclusive and equal future. Our continuous efforts aim to uplift rural and marginalized women, ensuring lasting social and economic change.
